Canine Behaviour Consultations

dog activity exerciseWHY? Many people go to training classes when they are experiencing problems with their dogs, normal training classes, with a lot of dogs attending in a confined space is very rarely a great place to start resolving problems. Dogs can be very stressed in such an environment, and find it very hard, if not impossible to concentrate. This can often result in the dog seemingly learning "routines", and exercises, but will result in the owner being unable to reproduce the results outside, or in a different environment.

What Happens?

Behaviour consultations enable the owner to focus on the dogs problem, and to be given individual help, and recipes for helping with any dilemmas. This can help not only with the education of the dog, but also give the owner an insight into why the problems occurred and how they started.

After the initial consultation, an individual plan will be sent to the owner, to work on. This should ideally be followed up with a second session to assesss progress, and to give any further advice and strategies.

After this point the owner may feel happy to continue the work themselves, or alternatively one to one training sessions can be arranged, or the activity classes can provide owner, and dog with further ideas and skills to continue building a bond, and a good partnership.
