DOG CLASSES
PUPPY AND DOG TRAINING CLASSES IN DARTFORD, KENT
About Hound School Training Classes and Workshops
The aim of all classes and workshops is to provide a relaxed stress free environment in which dogs and owners can learn. A variety of practical skills and theory are taught accompanied by handouts. All classes welcome rescue dogs (especially greyhound and lurchers) as well as older dogs and puppies from 4 months upwards. Home visits are available to puppies under 4 months of age.
Where are the classes held?
Indoor classes are held at Hawley Pavilion, Hawley Road, Dartford DA2 7RW.
The pavilion is directly opposite The Papermakers Arms pub.
Outdoor classes are held at the field next to the Pavilion or at Danson Park, Bexleyheath. Details of any outdoor classes will be included with each class description.
How many dogs will there be in each class?
The indoor classes will have a maximum of 3 dogs per class. This allows for individual attention to be given to each dog, and frees time to address any problems that arise during and between classes. There may be more dogs at outdoor classes or social walks as more room is available.
Come and view a class
Viewing classes is a good idea, and I encourage you to come and watch, but please do not bring your dog. Watching a session will give you a good idea of the structure of the classes, how each class is run and how exercises are taught. I use only kind and positive methods in classes and 1-1 sessions and do not agree with the use of training disks, spray collars or any other aversives and choke chains are banned from all training/lessons. You are free to ask questions when you visit and talk to class members.
Please call to let me know if you would like to watch so I can advise you of class times and any changes to the schedule.

Canine and human Bowen is a gentle hands on therapy that can help to relieve pain, injury and help to promote healing after operations and injuries. It has an effect on the circulation and lymphatic systems and can be a big help after stressful situations such as rehoming or can be used before or after firework season. Come and learn more about this therapy and how it could help with loss of mobility and pain that your dog (or yourself) might be experiencing.
Price: £3.50 per person including refreshments-all profits will go to Greyhound Walks

Group Social/training walks
Social walks are run once every 3 weeks on Sunday mornings @9.30am.
To attend a social walk you will need to have attended classes or 1-1 training with Hound School.
All dogs must be on lead throughout the walks apart from when we are doing specific exercises such as recall, this enables us to work on lead skills and meeting other dogs calmly. Owners are encouraged to use long leads (no flexi leads please) and practice skills learnt during classes.
Please see facebook for dates of social walks as these may be ammended due to weather or other unforeseen problems.
(Please click on facebook icon, you don’t need a facebook account to gain access)
